Ready To Use

A novel design for an injection moulded product, which is based on a single part that doubles up as a mirrored component, saving our customer on tooling costs, thereby reducing unit production costs.

An omni-directional clip makes this an exceptionally user-friendly product. This enclosure comes with a variety of internal partitions that allows for different layout and product applications.

The Way

Injection moulding was selected for the design of this product. The main reason was a good production price per unit, based upon production in high volumes. Various colours and material types are available to fit user requirements for this product. This is a high investment, but low unit cost route with good quality and reputable components.

The Who

This product is supplied into the retail market through a number or specialized stores. Product layout is configured according to each application’s requirements, yet based around the generic, original design.

The Where

This product is sold into retail throughout a number or specialized store types, each reconfigured into its own target market and all based around a generic design.

Our Journey

Being in the retail distribution channel, this customer identified a need for a very specific product that allows for the grouping and packaging of different items into a handy and ready-to-use container. Our value input into this project was the cost-saving, mirrored component design. This meant having only had to make one tool to produce two sides of the product, but still with top and bottom parts for easy, intuitive opening without the content perhaps facing down or accidentally falling out when opening the box. What a happy day when the tool arrived in South Africa after being made overseas, followed by an intensive journey back home. At least, now proudly made in South Africa!
